LE RICETTE DI LINA DI GENUA
La mia "fama" di pasticciera comincia circa un anno fa,quando mi trovo ad affrontare un'esperienza di vita molto "amara".Mia figlia Martina improvvisamente si ammala di leucemia e trascorro con lei lunghi periodi in ospedale tra paura e speranze, tra lacrime e parole di conforto. Conforto che trovo nei sorrisi, nelle parole e nei gesti di grande affetto dei medici e degli infermieri. Questi ultimi diventano gli amici più stretti dei nostri figli, perché sono capaci di creare con loro, in modo naturale, un rapporto di complicità fatto di giochi, di segreti, di confidenze. Un rapporto umano che va al di là del lavoro che svolgono con grande professionalità. La loro sensibilità riesce a leggere negli occhi dei bambini fino a toccare il profondo dei loro cuori…
Forse un po’ per ricambiare l’affetto di quanti lavorano in questo reparto, forse un po’ per tenere occupata la mente, comincio a portare ogni qualvolta vado in ospedale, un dolce fatto in casa per i più piccoli, e perché no? Anche per i più grandi. In questo modo assaggiandone una fetta tutti insieme, inganniamo l’attesa di un emocromo, alleviamo il dolore di una puntura, esorcizziamo la paura di un esame, addolciamo i nostri sguardi spesso smarriti e persi nel vuoto. E quando un giorno la dottoressa Giuliano mi chiede di raccogliere le ricette di queste torte, capisco di essere stata sopravvalutata. Ma sono felice di accettare ed orgogliosa di contribuire così alla realizzazione di questo ricettario, per la nobile finalità che si propone. Spero che ogni ricetta porti un po’ di gioia nelle nostre case, e nei nostri cuori perché, si sa, la felicità non può essere mai completa se non va condivisa, divisa e gustata a piccole fette…proprio come un dolce!
Il mio consiglio è quello di imparare a realizzare e a servire la prima di queste ricette, perché nella sua semplicità, è fra tutte la più ricca di calore e di amore, ed essa ci darà la carica giusta per affrontare le tante avversità della vita.

LINA’S RECIPES
My “fame” as a “pastry chef” started over two years ago, when I found myself facing a very “bitter” life experience. My daughter, Martina, was suddenly diagnosed with leukemia and I spent a lot of time in the hospital, between fear and hope, between tears and words of comfort. I find comfort in the smiles, the words and the gestures of affection of the doctors and the nurses. The nurses become the greatest friends of our daughters, because they are able to create, with them, in a natural way, a relationship made up of games, secrets, and confidences. This relationship goes beyond the job that they do with great professionalism. Their sensitivity succeed them to read into the children’s eyes and touch their hearts…
Maybe to reciprocate the affection of the people who work in this pediatric department of the hospital, maybe to help my mind busy; I started bringing to the hospital, everytime I go, a home made cake for the children…And why not, for the adults, too?
In this way, as me, all together, taste a piece of cake, we hill the waiting for blood test result, or we ease the pain of an injection, are we chase away the fear of a test, or we sweeten our expressions lost in the emptimes. When Dr Maria Grazia Giuliano asked me to put together the recipes of these cakes, I truly believe that I have been over-valued. But, I am happy to accept the challenge and I am proud to contribute to the making of this recipe book, and to the purpose for which it is intended. I hope that every recipe will bring a little happiness in our homes and in our hearts because, as we all know, happiness can never be complete unless it’s shared and divided up and enjoyed in pieces – just like a cake! My advice is to learn to use, and to serve the first of this recipes, because in its simplicity, it is, among all of them, the richest in warmth and love. Also, this recipe will give us the right “boast” to face the many adversities of life!
